The metro goes right to the terminalAeroport is a real metro station, under València airport's terminal, and it is the terminus of Line 3 and Line 5: trains start here, so there is no shuttle to change to. It is in the municipality of Manises, not in the city of València.
It is also the only station on the whole network inside the "+" fare area, so the ticket costs more: the Sencillo (single) ticket goes up from €1.50 to €3.50 for one zone and from €2.80 to €4.80 between zones A and B. The neighbouring stations ManisesES, RosesES and Salt de l'AiguaES are outside the "+" area. The details are on tickets and cards.

The station sits beneath the regional terminal of València airport and was built at the same time: the project for the new terminal included the underground box that houses it. It opened on 18 April 2007, and ever since the airport has had a direct link to the city on Line 3 and Line 5. Both lines start here: trains arrive, turn round and head back out towards Rafelbunyol or Marítim.

The earlier arrangement was far less convenient. From 1941 the airport had a halt called Aeródromo on the C-4 Cercanías commuter line, and passengers had to cross some 200 m of roads to reach the terminal. In 2004 an agreement between the Ministry of Public Works (Ministerio de Fomento) and the Generalitat handed FGV the operation of the airport corridor in place of that line, which stopped running in 2005 and was largely dismantled. Aeroport belongs to the “+” fare area, which carries the airport supplement.

Interchanges and connections

  • Metro: you can change here between Line 3 and Line 5 without leaving the station: FGV numbers it as a single facility.
  • Airport: this is the only station on the network inside the “+” fare area. Any journey that starts or ends here carries the airport supplement; the exact difference is on tickets and cards.

Frequently asked questions

Through the Aeródromo halt on the C-4 Cercanías commuter line, which had existed since 1941. It had no direct connection to the terminal: you had to walk about 200 m along roads. It stopped running in 2005, after the 2004 agreement that transferred the corridor to FGV.
