Served in one direction onlyTrams stop at Dr. Lluch on L4 only in the direction Platja les Arenes → Cabanyal and on L6 only in the direction Canyamelar → Cabanyal. It is a loop: at the beach end of the route the tracks form a ring that is always run in the same direction, so to come back this way you have to go all the way round. The diagram below shows it.
What FGV does not list hereFGV's list of stations does not include Line 8 among the lines of this stop, and the line page does not include it either. The official timetable does have services of that line that stop here — only a few a day, almost all at the start or the end of the day. The times in the table are the published timetable, but they are not a regular service of that line: to plan a journey, count on the lines that FGV does list at this stop, which are the ones the route planner uses.

Dr. Lluch is a terminus of Line 4 and, at the same time, one of the stops on the beach loop, which trams always run in the same direction. On Line 4 it is served only in the direction Platja les Arenes → Cabanyal, and on Line 6 in the direction Canyamelar → Cabanyal: there is never a stop in both directions, so check the route before planning your return.

It opened on 21 May 1994 with Line 4 itself, which was built along the route of the old València–Grao line, constructed in 1892 and dismantled in 1990 in an almost ruinous state; the old route ran very close to where the tracks are today. On 27 September 2007 it was joined by the trams of Line 6, which links Torrefiel with the Grau de València. The track is shared with EMT buses.

How the beach loop works

The one-way beach loop

Trams always run round this ring in the same direction and come back to where they started; there is no service in the opposite direction.

Cabanyal is served only in the direction Dr. Lluch → La Cadena. Platja Malva-rosa and Platja les Arenes only in the opposite direction, after leaving La Cadena. To get from Cabanyal to either of the two Platja stops you have to go all the way round the loop.

Interchanges and connections

  • Tram: you can change here between Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 without leaving the stop: FGV numbers it as a single facility.

Frequently asked questions

Because the seaward end of the network is a loop that is always run in the same direction. On Line 4 the trams go Platja les Arenes → Cabanyal and on Line 6 Canyamelar → Cabanyal. So there is no return service in the opposite direction.

The old València–Grao line, built in 1892 and dismantled in 1990 in an almost ruinous state. Its route ran very close to today’s stop, and Line 4, which opened on 21 May 1994, was laid along it.

Dr. Lluch is served by Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 (tram).
Dr. Lluch is in zone A of the ATMV fare system. Prices for each combination of zones are on tickets and cards.
From Monday to Thursday the first tram calls at Dr. Lluch at about 05:02 and the last at about 23:04, depending on the direction and the line. On Friday and Saturday service runs on into the early hours, and on Sunday it starts later: the table above gives every direction, from the timetable published by FGV.
Because the end of the route at the beach is not a two-way track but a one-way loop: Canyamelar, Dr. Lluch, Cabanyal, La Cadena, Platja Malva-rosa and Platja les Arenes are always run in the same direction. Dr. Lluch is on only one side of the loop, so to come back this way you have to go all the way round.
With the Metrovalencia Sencillo (single) ticket, a journey from Dr. Lluch to Xàtiva (zone combination A) costs €1.50. With the TuiN stored-value card or a SUMA ticket it works out a good deal cheaper: it is all on tickets and cards.
We cannot say. FGV does not publish the accessibility of each stop: the station pages on its website do not carry the information, nor does its GTFS timetable, and there is no official list. For the network as a whole it does publish a total of 153 escalators and 110 lifts. If you need a lift, check on metrovalencia.es before you travel.
