Served in one direction onlyTrams stop at Platja Malva-rosa on L4, L6 and L8 only in the direction La Cadena → Platja les Arenes. It is a loop: at the beach end of the route the tracks form a ring that is always run in the same direction, so to come back this way you have to go all the way round. The diagram below shows it.
What FGV does not list hereFGV's list of stations does not include Line 8 among the lines of this stop, and the line page does not include it either. The official timetable does have services of that line that stop here — only a few a day (1 on L8 on the busiest day), almost all at the start or the end of the day. The times in the table are the published timetable, but they are not a regular service of that line: to plan a journey, count on the lines that FGV does list at this stop, which are the ones the route planner uses.

The current name dates from May 2022: until Line 10 opened, Platja Malva-rosa was called Eugenia Viñes, after the street it stands on. It opened on 21 May 1994 and is part of the seaside loop, which runs in one direction only: trams on Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 stop here only in the direction La Cadena → Platja les Arenes.

There used to be another stop nearby, on the railway between València-Pont de Fusta and the Grao, which closed in 1990 because of its ruinous state; today’s tram line was built on that old route. The address is opposite number 241 on calle Eugenia Viñes, in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighbourhood, close to Cabanyal beach.

How the beach loop works

The one-way beach loop

Trams always run round this ring in the same direction and come back to where they started; there is no service in the opposite direction.

Cabanyal is served only in the direction Dr. Lluch → La Cadena. Platja Malva-rosa and Platja les Arenes only in the opposite direction, after leaving La Cadena. To get from Cabanyal to either of the two Platja stops you have to go all the way round the loop.

Interchanges and connections

  • Tram: you can change here between Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 without leaving the stop: FGV numbers it as a single facility.

Frequently asked questions

After the street it stands on, calle de Eugenia Viñes, opposite number 241. It bore that name from its opening on 21 May 1994 until May 2022, when the opening of Line 10 brought the change to Platja Malva-rosa.

One way only: La Cadena → Platja les Arenes, on Line 4 as well as on lines 6 and 8. The seaward end of the network forms a one-way loop, so there is no stop in the opposite direction.

Platja Malva-rosa is served by Line 4, Line 6 and Line 8 (tram).
Platja Malva-rosa is in zone A of the ATMV fare system. Prices for each combination of zones are on tickets and cards.
From Monday to Thursday the first tram calls at Platja Malva-rosa at about 04:57 and the last at about 00:27, depending on the direction and the line. On Friday and Saturday service runs on into the early hours, and on Sunday it starts later: the table above gives every direction, from the timetable published by FGV.
Because the end of the route at the beach is not a two-way track but a one-way loop: Canyamelar, Dr. Lluch, Cabanyal, La Cadena, Platja Malva-rosa and Platja les Arenes are always run in the same direction. Platja Malva-rosa is on only one side of the loop, so to come back this way you have to go all the way round.
With the Metrovalencia Sencillo (single) ticket, a journey from Platja Malva-rosa to Xàtiva (zone combination A) costs €1.50. With the TuiN stored-value card or a SUMA ticket it works out a good deal cheaper: it is all on tickets and cards.
We cannot say. FGV does not publish the accessibility of each stop: the station pages on its website do not carry the information, nor does its GTFS timetable, and there is no official list. For the network as a whole it does publish a total of 153 escalators and 110 lifts. If you need a lift, check on metrovalencia.es before you travel.
